Mortal Shell 2 Achievements: All 53 and How Rare They Are
Mortal Shell 2 has 53 achievements. The full list with what each one asks for, which 16 are hidden, and the share of players who have earned each.
How many achievements does Mortal Shell 2 have?
53. Thirty-seven state what they want, sixteen are hidden, and one of the 53 is the catch-all for earning the other 52.
Alongside each one below is the share of players who have earned it. That number is more useful than a difficulty rating, because it tells you what everyone else actually did rather than what a guide thinks you should do.
How to read the percentages
The completion rate is not a difficulty score. It mostly measures how far into the game a step sits, because a game released this recently has very few finished runs to count.
Two things follow from that:
- A low percentage on an end-game achievement means almost nobody has got there yet, not that it is hard.
- A low percentage on an early achievement is the interesting one. That is a real filter — something people walked past or gave up on.
Use the drop between consecutive steps rather than the absolute number. Where the rate falls off a cliff is where players are stopping.
Progress and story
The spine of the game. If you want a sense of how far a typical run gets, this is it.
| Achievement | What it asks for | Share of players |
|---|---|---|
| You’re More Than a Weapon | Claim your first Shell, Weapon and Sidearm | 91.9% |
| Home at Last | Reach Marrowkeep | 88.7% |
| Mid Summer? | Enter the Festival | 82.6% |
| Haunting Times | Watch your first Shell Memory | 56.0% |
| This is Not an Achievement | Complete Mortal Shell II | 1.6% |
| Seeking the Past | Watch all Shell Memories | 0.7% |
| No Lifer | Unlock every other achievement | 0.1% |
The gap worth noticing is 82.6% to 56.0%. Four out of five players reach the Festival, but only just over half ever watch a single Shell Memory. Whatever a Shell Memory is gated behind, a lot of people are not finding it — so if you want something most players miss, look there early.
Shells
Seven Shells have their own unlock achievement. Officially there are eight playable Shells, so one of them — almost certainly the one you begin with — has no unlock to earn.
| Achievement | Unlocks | Share of players |
|---|---|---|
| Forever Alone? | Tiel | 70.4% |
| Arrival | Proxima | 63.7% |
| Vengeance is Mine | Eredrim | 31.2% |
| Heartless | Gragu | 25.2% |
| My Brether | Smert | 21.9% |
| The Alchemist | Sariel | 10.1% |
| Down with the Thickness | Lazlo | 8.2% |
| Shell Seeker | All Shells | 5.5% |
| Decked Out | Maximum bonding tier for one Shell, at the Shellkeeper | 16.1% |
Read top to bottom and you have the order players find them in. Tiel and Proxima are what most people are playing. Sariel and Lazlo are late or well hidden — under one player in ten has either.
Note that bonding is its own system: Decked Out asks you to max one Shell’s bonding tier at the Shellkeeper, which more players have done (16.1%) than have found Sariel or Lazlo. Deepening one Shell is more accessible than collecting them all.
Weapons and sidearms
Thirteen weapons and sidearms are named by achievements, plus two collect-them-all entries and one upgrade milestone.
| Achievement | Unlocks | Share of players |
|---|---|---|
| Deep Cuts | Axe and Dagger | 48.4% |
| Old School | Forgotten Crossbow | 45.0% |
| Cut You Down to Size | Veteran’s Battle Axe | 39.1% |
| Big Boi | Great Martyr’s Blade | 31.6% |
| Chop Chop | Salvaged Trebuchaxe | 23.3% |
| Dual Wielding | Axatana | 16.9% |
| Old Painless | Triarch Repeater | 13.4% |
| Point Taken | Black Needle | 10.9% |
| Like Clockwork | Clockwork Scythe | 10.5% |
| Spiked | Caged Hystrix | 10.4% |
| Stop - Hammer Time | Obsidian Hammer | 9.7% |
| Beautiful Baby | Cursed Child | 8.7% |
| Speared | Ballistazooka | 8.3% |
| Over 9000 | Max out one Weapon at the Tarforge | 7.7% |
| Lord of War | Every Weapon | 6.3% |
| Guns. Lots of Guns | Every Sidearm | 5.6% |
Weapons and sidearms are tracked separately, which is why there are two completion achievements rather than one. Upgrading is done at the Tarforge, and only 7.7% of players have taken a single weapon to maximum — fewer than have unlocked most individual weapons. Collecting is outpacing investing.
Collectibles and world completion
The cleanup list, and the hardest set of achievements in the game by completion rate.
| Achievement | What it asks for | Share of players |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy Metal | Play every Lute Track in the game | 10.4% |
| Sat Nav | Find all Map Fragments | 5.3% |
| Bring My Ova Back to Me | Collect all of the Ova | 4.2% |
| Stoned | Find all Tarstones | 2.0% |
| So Fresh, So Clean | Cleanse every Beacon | 1.7% |
Cleansing every Beacon (1.7%) is rarer than finishing the game (1.6% is the completion achievement, and these two are within a rounding error of each other). Treat full Beacon cleanup as a second playthrough goal rather than something to do on the way through.
The 16 hidden achievements
Steam hides these descriptions, which normally means they would spoil a boss, an ending, or a secret. The names and completion rates are public even when the requirements are not.
| Achievement | Share of players |
|---|---|
| Wheelie Good Time | 38.0% |
| Meat’s Back on the Menu, Boys! | 22.7% |
| Headcase | 15.0% |
| No, You Still Can’t Win | 12.4% |
| Baghead | 12.0% |
| Sester | 10.2% |
| Feed Me | 6.7% |
| Ascension | 6.4% |
| Something in the deep… | 6.2% |
| It burnssssssssss | 6.1% |
| Nightmare Fuel | 4.7% |
| Lost Your Head | 3.0% |
| Ultimate Gainz | 2.9% |
| Praise him! | 2.6% |
| It’s over now? | 2.0% |
| Peter’s Perfect Parry | 1.1% |
Two of these are worth flagging. Wheelie Good Time at 38.0% is earned by more players than most named weapon unlocks, so it sits on the main path rather than off it — you will probably trip over it. Peter’s Perfect Parry at 1.1% is rarer than completing the game, and given the name it is a skill check rather than a progress marker. That one you will have to go looking for.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a platinum trophy? On PC the equivalent is No Lifer, which asks for all 52 other achievements and currently sits at 0.1%.
Are any achievements missable? The collect-everything entries are the ones to be careful with, since Map Fragments, Ova, Tarstones and Beacons are spread across the world. Nothing in the described list requires a choice you can lock yourself out of, but the hidden ones cannot be ruled out.
Can I get everything in one playthrough? The described achievements do not conflict with each other. Whether the hidden ones include mutually exclusive endings is not something the public list can tell you.
Do achievements differ between PC, PlayStation and Xbox? The 53 here are the Steam list. Console trophy lists for this game normally mirror it, with a platinum added on PlayStation.
Why do the percentages keep changing? They are live global completion rates. As more people finish the game, late-game achievements climb. Early achievements barely move, which is what makes an early achievement with a low rate a genuine signal.
